my fiddle after a practice – rosin, everywhere

All Products

music, fiddle, reel, violin, jig, rosin, bow, old time

In the 1990’s photography for me was about SLR’s & dark rooms, it was about printing your shots at 3-6am to ‘beat the light’ in you homemade darkroom to get your shots to press. I worked in music, hair and a little news, but love portraiture. Now I use a digital slr, but try to replicate shot control like in the old film days. I now longer make my living out of photography, but prefer to better my life by embracing a passion ;)

I thought from your title that this was going to be fishing equipment!
But this is a very interesting shot! I love the black and white – good choice.
    Cordially, Ellen

  • thanks Ellen, the black and white really brings out how much rosin can cover a fiddle after a good session! I can imagine how the title would be confusing for people who don’t get into old time music ;)

Oooh! I get it! Like an Irish jig or a square dancing reel! Hah! A jig and a reel are also fishing terms! LOL! Got it! Haaaah!

This really is a stunning B&W Marky! Love the light, shadows and contrasting!

  • thanks Jordan – I believe one of the better shots I’ve done since I’ve been shooting again! Afternoon light seems to be working for me – I’m also ‘almost’ comfortable with my dslr ;)
