How they used to pull these old hardwood tree roots out with horses and bullocks is beyond me. I’ve tried with tractors and you need a big one.
Just from working with them, they must command respect, they are tough, can still have lots of uses for fires, but are beautiful and full of natures curves.

In the 1990’s photography for me was about SLR’s & dark rooms, it was about printing your shots at 3-6am to ‘beat the light’ in you homemade darkroom to get your shots to press. I worked in music, hair and a little news, but love portraiture. Now I use a digital slr, but try to replicate shot control like in the old film days. I now longer make my living out of photography, but prefer to better my life by embracing a passion ;)

Great textures in this warhorse! I’ve always been hesitant about B&W landscapes, but this really works. And such an Aussie landscape!

  • Thanks Jordan, the afternoon sun was glorious and I could see the wonderful tones, if I had a tripod with me I would have slowed it right down to get the breeze in the grass… I’m almost comfortable with my dslr, I love being able to change film speed on the fly ;)
