One of 6 big iron bark trees on my property – I’m not sure how old they are – but I think of them as ancients. Here before Cook, here with the native carers of this land. I hope my people respect them too.

In the 1990’s photography for me was about SLR’s & dark rooms, it was about printing your shots at 3-6am to ‘beat the light’ in you homemade darkroom to get your shots to press. I worked in music, hair and a little news, but love portraiture. Now I use a digital slr, but try to replicate shot control like in the old film days. I now longer make my living out of photography, but prefer to better my life by embracing a passion ;)

    Love the detail! Great DoF.

  • It was afternoon light, but it was directly facing, I was able to get f-stop to 5, and leave film speed on 100asa, can’t recall shutter speed, but I wanted to ‘soak’ the film.. as such – what I would have done with film I should say – but it worked… in this case, size does count :)
