some old mower blades – they have done their service all right – many good mows, but maybe 1 or 2 too many.

In the 1990’s photography for me was about SLR’s & dark rooms, it was about printing your shots at 3-6am to ‘beat the light’ in you homemade darkroom to get your shots to press. I worked in music, hair and a little news, but love portraiture. Now I use a digital slr, but try to replicate shot control like in the old film days. I now longer make my living out of photography, but prefer to better my life by embracing a passion ;)

It’s suprising what a simple item like these blades, make such a great subject

I had literally just changed the blades, then looked down and thought “love that texture against the old timber” the two very different objects had stood their time in fro’ :) I was sure old mower blades was something most males (and quite a few females) would relate to ;)

    beautiful detail and b&w.

  • thanks Sedge808, i grew up on b&w so always appreciate it’s qualities ;) I find you can work with texture easier than colour. I believe I shot this on 80asa with a tripod. I love slow settings and tonal saturation, as you say, ‘beautiful details’ ;) have a great day, thanks for the comment ;)
