Let It Rain

Even if we walk in different circles
Even if we stand on different shores
Even if we hope for different moments
We can cherish what has gone before

For we are at the edge of this horizon
We are at the face of this new day
We may never know what lies before us
But we can always own what came our way

Now when I look back I count my blessing
But I still presume to count the cost
Of ev’ry other soul I’ve shared this life with
Of ev’ry friend I’ve made but I have lost

Open Trust, Walking Blind
Working harder on my peace of mind
What we need, always just in time
We’re kindred spirits, Hearts in kind

Every now & then we see our purpose
Every other day we feel the pain
Then with all the other souls who’ve gone before us
Deep within our hearts we pray for rain

Let It Rain

Artist's Description

This is a song that I wrote when a good friend & kindred spirit left after years of working together. Her departure left me reflecting on how people move in and out of our lives; it lead me to the realisation that the price we pay for loving someone is measured in the pain of their departure;
