This is one of a pair of busts in my garden that once belonged to Alun Owen, a playright, and he called them Maggie and May (after Rod Stewart’s song). After being moved from his garden to his ‘office’ at home he would find them a calming effect which helped him with his writing. He wrote ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, many years ago, amongst many other things and I inherited them (I was his son’s partner). Apart from the provenance I too find them calming and think about him when I look at them. I hope you enjoy looking at her (she’s ‘May’)! She did get totally broken but pieced together again, lovingly (thanks Geoff!).
