Its mating rituals and called the ‘rut’. The ‘winner’ gets the doe. And its sad to say that ever once in a while bucks will get their horns’stuck’ together and it can cause death to one or both animals.
Lori this is an AWESOME shot!!! You should send it in to the deer hunters magazines. You might get lucky and sell it to one of them.These type shots are hard to come by…one of those once in a lifetime things.

Thanks James!! Getting this shot was two fold for me. One, just to see this was awesome and Two, it was just me and my Dad out for a drive in Cades Cove, TN. I will never forget either memory.
