I shoot all Canon stuff, I have a 5D and a 20D. My first real camera was my 20D that I got in 2005 when I traveled to Poland. Ever since then I have rarely gone anywhere with out it. I have had one camera class and that was really just a dark room class at my High School back in Michigan. So I am largely self taught on all of my photography techniques (though I am embarassed to say that I still have no idea how to use photo shop)

I have travled the world, and I take pictures of everything. I have been to Europe countless times, and now I am trying to visit the rest of the world.

I consider myself more of a photo journalist type than anything. I take shots of opportunity, I don’t like to pose, or to do studio things, its to fake for me. I love to photograph a dynamic subject who may never do the same action twice, so in essence I really only get one shot at that picture.

I never use flash, I only use the light that is avaiable, I don’t pose pictures. The light that is there when you take the shot has so much to do with the mood of the orignal setting, so I try to use that, a flash of any kind seems to distort how the photo is supposed to feel. So I try to avoid it.

I seek the shot that only presents itself once.

I am currently deployed to Baghdad Iraq so I upload pictures very rarely right now, so please be patient with me until I have time to take more photographs.

I thank you all for your kind words, your tips, and sharing your photographs with me.

Please stay safe,
Kyle
