"Fasting from Clutter"

I know that here on RB we are all of different Faiths, and that is awesome….but I had to share this with you all….as I am so excited….

I am so excited about Lenten Season this year! I went to Ash Wednesday Service this morning after dropping Kloe at school. Logan rode the bus as he usually does “with his friends” as he says. LOL

I have thought, prayed, and meditated on what I wanted to “do” for Lent this year. Any Christian can participate in Lent, so I encourage all of you to take moment, think and pray on what you may need to change in your life, “fix” with God’s help, or even just give up something you love to do, eat or drink for the next 40 days.

I am so very excited this year, because I have chose to work on my spirituality! I am working on ME. Yep….ME. I am going to be “Fasting from Clutter” so to speak. I am fasting from the various types of clutter in my life, beginning with the “outer regions” of life—my personal habits and the clutter in our home. Then I will move to mental and spiritual clutter as the weeks progress toward Easter. I am fasting from the confusion and busy-ness that characterize our culture. I believe that if we use this period to open our hearts, we will be well prepared to celebrate Easter. I can’t wait to see how much better, and more growth I have in my heart come Easter!!

I have found a day by day through Lent guide that is going to help me with the scriptures for the day for my “fasting from clutter”, and help me to get through this Lent Season and accomplish my to “do” list! You can also see this day by day process at www.AmericanCatholic.com if you choose to do the same as I am.

I think we can all grow in our FAITH, and our SPIRITUALITY. This could be the year for us all. Join me on this 40 day journey if you’d like. I’d love for you to come along.

The best thing is that not only am I “doing” something for Lent this year, but so are the kids. Kloe hasn’t quite thought of hers yet….but she’s thinking. Logan said that he’s working on himself as well. And he wants to get a better attitude towards his sister, and work on not arguing with her….although sometimes she doesn’t make that very easy!! He’s also hoping that they will have fish at lunch on Fridays too, so he can stay clear of the meat on Fridays. :o) I am so blessed to have such awesome children!!

Thank you so much. It is actually working…I am beginning to feel so much better about things, and getting the “clutter” in the house straightened up or thrown away. LOL :o)
