I SPOTTED THIS FAKE-LEATHER COUCH as I was driving in an alley. It must have been left for a thrift store pickup or for recycling. A graffiti vandal decided to decorate it.
Who would want it in their livingroom now? Maybe it will become a comfortable gang hangout.
“Yo! Wazzup? Sit down and chill, homeboy!”

LOCATION: All in rural, Central Coastal Town, California. Santa Barbara County.
It was gone the next day.

Somene was inspired by the couch, I don’t think anyone on their right mind would have it on their living room, but who knows, there is taste for everything under the sky.
    Fantastic find ans shot!

  • Thank you, Noel. I caught the moment. That’s what counts! LOL.

Quite major cool! This designer has a great sense of urban and needs his/hers own TV show. SO is it in your back yard, basement, family room, living room, parlor yet? What a great find. You should do a whole series of people and animals with and on it.

  • LOL! I am not allowed to bring things home now unless they are images in my camera. I was thinking it would have been cool to have had someone in a hoody sitting on the couch that had been graffitied at the same time – so they would be, like, camo-ed. Some celebrity rapper would pay big money to have this in their “crib!”

Great shot, agree good for sittin in the hood!

  • Thanks so much. If you could have seen the alley, you would have seen the humor in this. So out of place! This was a great artistic opportunity for a local graffiti artist to take advantage. :)

  • I DID! And I saw a notice that this image was Featured! Yey! But there’s no banner or B-mail so . . . not sure. Certainly it is there in the Featured group photos. Maybe it just takes a while . . . :)

I really like it. I would have it on the verandah in my country crib!

  • I drove by there this evening and it was gone. Someone’s lovin’ it somewhere! LOL.

I’d have it in my studio for musos + my cats to sit on.I think it looks really cool.If you ever get to the Northcote Social Club a live music venue in Melbourne ,they have about 50 old couches facing the stage. Hey somebody could even start a recycling business decorating sofas salvaged from hard rubbish

  • You’re right! The key is that, to paint them, they have to be made of something smooth – I don’t think fabric would work as well. Don’t know. Maybe someone could put these guys to work designing sheets and matching pillow cases! Wallpaper – go mainstream! LOL.

    Awwww … :o))) Great find AE!!! :-D

  • The next day it was gone – someone dragged it home to decorate their “crib!” (gangsta-rapper speak)

  • I’d like to see what happens when a Lazyboy gets left there! Perhaps the decline of the recliner! LOL.

    Postmodernism!

  • Thanks for checking this shot out and your comment! I thought post modernism is when taggers spray paint a bulletin board! LOL.
