Part 1: By Vulcan

They say,
Scars fade,
But wounds don’t heal,
Well, some stay
and they also add character,
For this life turns out to be
real life adventure.

Scars, I display them like souvenirs,
For the struggles I came through,
I can name a few,
Which left many disabled,

Scars I display them like medals,
Shows my true mettle,
I went as a soldier,
And I came back,
So it tells you that I won the battle

Part 2: By Sally Omar

The scars remain
The memories too
My soul is tortured
That is what war will do

The rifles and guns
Each victory
Although I’m here
It is the fallen I see

The battle for me has ended
The pain remains
For all the dead
My heart burns

I live with guilt
I often wonder why
How could I live
When so many died
