I remember watching an experiment on telly years ago where volunteers were asked to identify images flashed for a very brief period on a screen. The images were of incomplete drawings such as a triangle or square with a missing side, or an incomplete circle. Sure enough, when asked to identify what they saw, the people stated that all the images were complete. Their brains had filled in the missing pieces because that’s what they were used to seeing, and expected to see. Cartoonists use the same technique. Just a few lines is all the brain needs to complete the picture. You use a similar technique, William… the bits you leave out are filled in by the viewer’s brain. Clever stuff, yes? Another Bullimore masterpiece.

  • Thanks so much Gary. You’re making my head swell :)

Lovely. The walls are such a gorgeous colour!
Do you write down your editing steps along the way? You’re so organised!
I forget all of what I do so the most I write is ‘edited in PS CS5.1’ :)

  • Thanks Maree. My editing process is usually fairly repetitious these days so it’s kind of easy to remember the steps that I took. Every now and then I do something a bit different, but on the whole, my work-flow stays mostly constant.
