As the seat of Queensland’s government since 1868, Parliament House is unique as the first and only purpose-built parliamentary building in Queensland. At the time of construction it was the largest and most imposing building in the state, indicating the sense of optimism felt by the Queensland Government of the time.

The place is a significant landmark in the city of Brisbane, and it is also of considerable aesthetic significance for its high degree of design and craftsmanship, including decorative glass, ornamental cast iron, marble chimneypieces and cedar and yellowwood joinery.

I think if any tree knew that after its demise it would end up in a Bullimore photograph it would indeed rest in peace and be content.

  • Thanks buddy :)
