What a wonderful display this must have been!
Paul Tait
Thank you Mel
Yes the orange torii’s wound their way up the mountain side amongst the maple trees and bamboo. I could have stayed there the whole day!
nikuyakun

Daniel Neuhaus
Fantastic Photo Paul. Love the colour, it’s so basic, yet so complex!
Paul Tait
Thanks Daniel – The colour attracted me too
Stephen Mitchell
Well composed. I like how you’ve used the paving below to dictate the horizon, not the wood above.
Paul Tait
Thank you Stephen – I actually had to use a slow shutter speed to capture this and hence have some photos where people came around the corner – leaving a blur in the photo. If people are keen I could upload that version too.
Jenny Davis

David Barnes
Hi Paul,
this is an outstanding image. The slightly-off angles and possibly camera tilt are just beautifully wonky. The writing adds texture and “3d-ness” to the posts and the soft orange light on the path adds atmosphere and depth. Totally unforgettable, this is just fantastic. Fave’d.
– David.
