This is wonderful! Because of the thing he’s smoking I love the side on shot as it really shows the character. My first thought on seeing this was wanting to sit down and have a chat with this man. It looks like he has truly lived his life and therefore may be full of interesting stories.

I just submitted a poem called ‘The Forgotten Ones’ which this photo shows one the many people that made this country America. Your photo is AMERICA and what we are forgetting about it, THE PEOPLE! Each and every one of us has a story that brought this country a little closer to being great and yet all we care about-well I’m not sure anymore what we care about, but I do know it’s not this countries people. I love the way you captured every line in his face in a warm tone that suggests many tales. Keep snapping photo’s and I’ll keep an eye out

this is a spectacularly fine portrait, iconic. sensitive and wonderful execution. I’m not sure why, but the image brings to mind William Burroughs.

it makes me think of no country for old men, for some reason, and i’m not sure why. I think it’s just the starkness of it, the texture, the feeling and emotion. I really like it, especially since it’s a portrait of this guy, but you can’t really get a feel of what he looks like. it’s just a profile. A glimpse.
