A view across one of the English Lake District’s jewels, Grasmere (the Lake) on a beautiful November day. Beyond is the pass of Dunmail Raise, where the last Celtic king of Cumbria is reputed to be buried (probably Dyfnwal III of Strathclyde). To the left of the pass,Steel Fell and Helm Crag and to the right part of the Helvellyn range.
The large building on the far shore is the Daffodil Hotel (formerly the Waterside Hotel).Grasmere village is largely screened by the trees.
