In the SW of the English Lake District National Park is a group of fells (mountains) called the Coniston Fells. Consisting of 8 principle summits, the most famous is probably the Old Man of Coniston (Man being a common word applied to summits in the district)
One of the other well known fells is Wetherlam. This is The Old Man of Wetherlam in the guise of Alex Bradley with whom I ascended Wetherlam on 1st Nov 2011 (sorry Alex,I know you’ll get your revenge)
Below is a shot from the real Old Man of Coniston.
Looking across past Alex we see the world famous Langdale Pikes and you can make out Stickle Tarn at the foot of Pavey Ark. On the skyline is Skiddaw,England’s 4th highest mountain.
