The boat landings at Waterhead,Ambleside in the Lake District National Park. The ferry travels from here down Windermere t Bowness and on to Lakeside,a journey of 10 miles in all,Windermere being England’s longest lake.
The public jetty is the one on front underwater and I had to laugh at first because the sign stating it is the public jetty seems to just rise from the water, the lake being very high at the moment.
One of a series of shots around the central Lake District taken on the morning of 8th Feb 2011 on my way home from Kendal via Ambleside,Little and Great Langdale,Yewdale ,Tarn Hows and Esthwaite Water (A bit of a diversion)
