The road from Langdale to Blea Tarn in the English Lake District on 18th Jan 2011. Below is the same place on 4th Jan 2010.
There are ,apart from the slightly different perspective and different date, 5 major differences…(not including the clouds) can you list them all. The winner is the first person to list the 5 correctly in one comment. The judges decision is final.
Update
Clues added after several people got 4 out of 5
Again it’s not the clouds..
It’s not shadows.
Joak mentioned “jobby”…that is relevant but not in the way he was referring to it…ask yourself what he means by “jobby” then look again.
Solved in 4 by Karl Williams by the skin of his teeth, coming in after everyone else had done the hard work.
The several people that got 4 out of 5 correctly guessed that # there was no snow.#there was mist (in the valley)#there were the hikers by the wall and #Tarn (the terrier) was in this shot..no extra points for guessing what she was doing.
The thing that defeated most people was the road being covered in what Karl so eloquently put as # Sheep Shit ! (and that was what I noticed most strongly at the time.)

the snow, the clouds, the mist, the dog on the left and the people on the right?

  • Hi Emilie, very close. But I’m sorry I hadn’t considered the clouds…so I’ve excluded those now in the write up…as a consolation you get another go.

As far as I can see, the differences between the two images are: No Tarn/Tarn (yes, we can all see what she is doing), no hikers/hikers, no snow/snow (although it does look cold in the new image), no shadows/shadows, no mist/mist, clear sky/cloud

  • Well that’s 6 and I mentioned clouds in the write up.From the other 5 you got one wrong
