"The worst trespass against the goddess Venus is to see her naked and asleep."

There is nothing proud

about the dark pain

Nothing is glorified in

the harshest of days

I don’t buy the myth that

I’m better when broken

However I’m sure that

not all should be spoken

Tell alls are never as satisfying, as a good mystery unsolved.

  • And often, one must just let the mystery be…

Your words are truth here. This drawing is amazingly active in its symbloic sense of silence. (that’s my reading). I love the form within the form and how she is seated and posed, like a kind of inner caretaker to the manifested. The drawing is just magic.

  • What a beautiful gift of a note you’ve left me ken. I’m very touched. Thank you…

I don’t know that myth of “better when broken” no one state is better than the other despite the premise that “good” is best, it is just not practical or real….one can live a very full life when broken…this I know :)

as always thought provoking and your artwork is truly sublime xxx

  • Oh, you said it so well.
I had been having a discussion with another artist who felt like he was always ‘better’ when dysfunctional.
I myself am broken – and have a very full life too. I have been trying not to create ‘pain’ – which probably needs more expanding on. That’s what I don’t want to court.

THANK YOU so much for your fine eye/heart/presence Lisa…
    You are indeed a Jewel!
