I wish I could come even close to this I have been trying too, but I often lose the pictures or miss the event , and my latest full moon eclipse pictures are in my humble opinion far too blurry to even post here , but I am trying, I know it is hard , harder to do than one would think… Kudos, (I think maybe with a tripod, i would have better luck…) Great work!!!

Not surprised this gets a lot of comments – I saw one about a year ago (i wonder if this is it??) – I went to bed when it was looking much like your shot, and then i got up at 2 am to go to the loo – we have an outside bathroom – and it had progressed to this incredibly beautiful sliver…. i was transfixed. I told someone that story less than an hour ago, because there’s another one due on sunday, so it’s rather spooky that i should stumble over this image today!

I agree with Dragoncats comments. It (the moon, Nanna, Al-Gamar) is a difficult subject to capture with good clarity. Yes I’ve tried too with my Nikon and with my Fugi, with mixed results. Yours is a superb capture. Congratulations.
