My Tight Cocoon

The insignificance I feel
can be altered, yet
somehow, I still hold onto it.
The fear of drowning in my
overwhelming thoughts
makes me feel uneasy.
I have gotten too
comfortable in the idea
of me, as a failure.
So, I do not change
but evermore, I stay
exactly the same.
Wrapped in my tight
cocoon and my
wings cannot show.
I died a long time ago.
I am just a shell.

Sometimes the darkness can really get to me. I don’t feel like this all the time. I am actually a very happy person. But there are those days when I just feel horrible.

cocoon, failure, loathing

I think that life is beautiful in all its grandeur. I am constantly inspired by nature, kindness, family, friends and most of all, love. Not only romantic love, but all kinds of love, in all its different and unique forms. I always feel blessed and loved. I always strive to become a better person with everything I do. Blessed is the world that keeps me smiling♥

Perhaps for now….nobody can be a self-loathing failure forever….when we are so tired that we cannot seem to spark ourselves back to life….then something, someone helps us to get there. x

  • Yes, I completely agree with you. I was just feeling dark the day I wrote this. But thank you for taking the time to read this. It is much appreciated =)

Beautiful sadness – I know the feeling. But, without sadness (at times, of course, not always) we wouldn’t have a fourth of the art and literature this world offers. I do think that sorrow is the force that inspires a great deal of art. When Tom died, a part of me died, but my Muse came out in full force. I would rather have Tom than my poems, but it’s still interesting how these things work.

Anyway, this is a delicate expression of sadness, and a beautiful call for hope.

  • awww you are too kind. Thanks so much for reading it. I think sadness is a great inspiration for beautiful poetry/art/writing. I just think that without sadness we wouldn’t really know what happiness is!

  • Thank you a million times. I really appreciate it. Thanks sooo much for reading my poetry and giving me such wonderful and helpful feedback :)

We have all experience this in our own way, but it’s the moving forward part that is the hardest.

  • Yes, moving forward can always be difficult.
