As a group of us were trudging over hilly terrain in a Costa Rican fishing village, I caught the look in this girls eye as we passed her home and I felt compelled to shoot!

I believed I recognized the wistful look in her expression as asking, “What more is out there in the world?” The same expression I must have had on my face many times as a child.

Shot with Canon 5D Mark II

Hi! Like everyone else, I LOVE and have a passion for photography!

A couple of years ago I went back to school to get a degree in Web Design and New Media.

Also, so you know, I jealously guard my favorites so if you take a peek into mine, you will only see what I think is excellent work—if I’ve favorited your work it’s cuz I TRULY believe it deserves to be there!

    THANKS for the encouragement!!

lol Can’t help wonder about her life, her goals, her dreams… she obviously lives in poverty; her expression is SO thoughtful and intelligent— makes you wonder if she will have the resources to live up to her potential… I think maybe…

Nobody so young should look this sad… beautiful capture and post work…

  • I know… maybe the look that is haunting is the tinge of hopelessness I sense.

    Thank you for the encouragement!
