A helicopter flies in front of a breaking wave at Peahi. This area is known as Jaws and when it is active hosts a large number of big wave or tow-in surfers.

I have always enjoyed art in its many forms. The past few years have taken my husband and me to many different places in the world and the sights that we have seen and photographed have been very humbling. What a wonderous world we have and I hope that through my images, I enable others to see and maybe even feel a tiny bit of that wonderous world.

That is an amazing image Vivian, a breath taking scene :-)

  • Hi Piaxao Photography. Thank you for your compliment. I appreciate it. We were lucky to be in Maui when the wave was active – needs a swell of 28 feet or more to work. We sat for several hours on the cliffs above the wave watching all the action. It was truly amazing!

such an unforgettable sight – it must have been amazing to be there!! brilliant capture indeed!!

  • Hi Dinghysailor1. Thank you. It was pretty awesome being there. My husband and I were very lucky to be in Maui when the wave was working. We went to the cliffs above the wave a couple different morning – spent several hours watching and photographing the action. Lots of people there and it was quite a carnival atmosphere! Definitely a treat.
