Her Father's Daughter

This poem is pretty self explainitory.

Her Father's Daughter belongs to the following groups:

! 100% !, "Poetry and Beautiful Women" , All Around the Styles, All Out Emotion and Bits and Pieces

As a little girl,
I followed her;
Drinking tea; as she did.
Laughing; as she did.
Collecting; as she did;
I was my mother’s daughter.

As a little girl;
I loved her;
She bought me toys,
Played mindless games,
To keep me happy;
I was my mothers daughter.

As a little girl;
I saw her change;
Watched her smile disintigrate,
Saw her bones weaken,
And her mind decieve her;
I was my mothers daughter.

As a little girl;
I feared her;
Watched her pacing the halls,
With a bitter word…
And an icy hand;
I was my mothers daughter.

As a woman;
I ripped myself from her seams
And sewed myself a soul;
Seperate from the learnings of my mother;
Who would only ever be,
Her father’s daughter.

    Been in this moment, finished this one through tears. Great writing! Love the part about ripping yourself from her seams and sewing a soul.
