Threatened Species, listed as vulnerable.

This lazy lion had just finished off a big dinner and was fading in and out from his nap. When he heard a lot of rucus, he didn’t bother to get up to see what was going on, but rather, turned one eye in the direction of the noise.

This image was made with my “old” long lens, Canon EOS EF 100-300mm 4.5-5.6. Not nearly as sharp as my “new” lens, and I believe this was also hand-held. I use a tripod now for most of my images, but this is an older one and it is still one of my favorite lion shots.

Cute shot! It just goes to show that a cat is a cat is cat – my Birman lies on her back exactly the same way!
