I was extremely frustrated to spend weeks in Bela Vista do Paraíso, a small town in northern Paraná State in Brazil, when I’d hoped to get out and enjoy some scenery, however it was not to be.
I took this photo from the outskirts of the town looking south on one of the few days I managed to get out of the house.

The red earth and rolling country with only a few trees here and there seem to go on in all directions as far as the eye can see.

I’ve had an interest in photography since a child, and more recently painting, mostly in oils. I’m fortunate to live in the South Island of New Zealand which offers spectucular landscapes, however I’ve travelled extensively in Portugal and Brazil as well.
