“Nightmares? Nah. I give the nightmares nightmares!”

When his ship was destroyed in battle with the Maland, space marine Marcus Du Pre was the ony survivor to reach the surface of the nearest planet. The world was low-tech, inhabited by a feudal civilisation, although ruins suggested this people had a very high-tech past.

In the early days it was all he could do to survive in this backward place. To the locals he was an idiot who could barely speak or make himself understood, a hapless foreigner from the impoverished lands to the far north, and held in contempt. One day, when challenged by the Imperial Guard for his name for the umpteenth time, he snarled the strange foreign phrase, “Darth Obvious!” The name stuck.

He was able to eke out an existence by going on “cave crawls” for treasure. Although he missed his laser pulse rifle dearly, he quickly took to more primitive combat tools as a means of survival.

In the stars above, his fleet’s defeat left the planet open for Maland invasion. When they arrived, even the bravest of knights knew horror at these “demons”, and fled in terror.

Not Darth Obvious. For him, fighting the Maland was just another day at the office. The contempt with which he treated his enemy was inspiring. Now armed with items he had scavenged from the ruins, such as super-tough polymer “glass armour”, he earned the respect of the community. In time, allied with the Imperial leadership, he was crucial in helping the world repel the Maland under its own powers.

After fighting Maland, a few poxy undead skeletons isn’t enough to break a sweat over… “Undead? Not for long!”

Who doesn’t love a bit of Dungeons & Dragons???

Please note that this image looks significantly darker when printed.
