A darker work… For once, I’m a bit nonplussed as to what to say about this image. Perhaps simply that strong emotions and extreme sensitivity don’t always work out well together, and the everyday can suddenly become a living hell.

A very eerie, thought provoking image! To be a true empath would indeed be Hell … At first look, I couldn’t help but feel I was glimpsing a resident of Venus (which I understand is quite hellish too!) This has a real sense of searing HEAT — yet she seems at home, as though she’s made of molten gold herself. Terrific work!

  • Venus, what a splendid idea! The background worked really well, so it might be worth re-visiting with another traveller, LOL! I first wanted a scarred, charred, zombie-like creature, but experimenting with this texture, it gave that burn-scarred look to her face, without being a zombie cliche. When I think of empaths I always think “emotional scars”, and on it goes… bit of a story gestating? Cheers mate :D

  • Yeah, I think we all have days like this, it was the emotion I wanted to get at, and there’s always new techniques to try out, too. Always a new lesson to learn. Cheers mate, thank you :-))

Hope this helped you blow off some steam. Not easy getting your feelings out onto a “canvas”.

  • Well, ya kind of stumble onward… it was interesting to see what would emerge, though as you’ve found, it isn’t always yours to control, LOL! I just hope the pool she’s about to go into really is cooler than the heat back there ;-))
