i only just discovered these a day or two ago ; quite a few programmes offer the option of export to ‘pdf 3d’ ; where this is the case , i do suggest giving it a try . pdf 3d files open on the ‘adobe reader’ which is difficult not to have ; once you’ve opened a file , you have various very useful options like zoom , rotate , adjust colour etc . the files are quite big , but you can take as many different snaps and then discard it if you want ! these are examples from one ‘pdf 3d’ file ;
the model i created (or , rather – destroyed) with z-brush , then opened as .obj in ‘simlab’ which i recently obtained and also recommend ; simlab allows saving as ‘pdf 3d’ – et voila ! i think the pdf format could be utilised more in general .
