In the English county of Wiltshire, (the home of Stonehenge), you never go far without seeing a white horse carved out of the chalk hillside.

This one, near the village of Alton Barnes, is relatively new – just 150 years or so. I was lucky; driving past I spotted this white horse grazing in front of the carved one and for once I had my camera with me!
