Sydney waterfalls - Tipperary Falls. by

To satisfy a recent curiosity I searched and found some information about Suburban Sydney Waterfalls. Yes I know it may sound amazing but they do exist, about 30 or so.

Though not as spectacular as the ones you may find in the mountains, what makes these interesting is the fact that they exist amongst such dense urbanisation. Due to this most of these falls only run after periods of rainfall.

This particular one is the first of what may become a quest to visit and photograph all of them. This waterfall was photographed today and is in Boronia Park, Hunters Hill, Sydney.

Nikon D300 & 18-70mm, ND400, 180sec, f18. Cloning out of submerged engine parts using CS5 and finished in NX2.

Hi and welcome to my collection of fine art photography. I hope you enjoy browsing my portfolio and hopefully see something you like and maybe find some inspiration.

All feedback is welcome and much appreciated and all comments are acknowledged and responded to.

I hope you enjoy my artwork as much as i’ll enjoy yours.

For such a little waterfall victor you have made this one jump out, in stead of the whole sean in green theres small amounts of dark & lime green and a bit of orange on the rock. I also like the waterfall area in gray, silver colour. well done mate.

  • Thanks so much for the great feedback Peter, i’m still amazed this exists in the suburbs.

Great picture, have been looking for the Tipperary Falls myself. Where exactly in Boronia Park are they? I might have to go take another look.

  • Hi Brett, I parked the car on Park Rd and walked down Princes St (its blocked off to cars) for about 250m and then headed into the bush on the left. If its running well, which it should be now, you will probably hear it. Good luck. Let me know if you post any pics.
