Looking in the mirror
Sad because
My body is not what it used to be
It was once so tough
A dancer’s body both soft and strong
Now it has been weakened
It is not the body I know
Legs that won’t hold me up
Shape I wish I did not see
But it has survived
I am still alive
And one day
I pray
It will be
My art again

I love this. I know how you feel, although for me it comes when I cannot write, for months and months, I feel like I’ve lost my touch, and then one day, suddenly, the words come again and the world is back in the rotation it should be in. Don’t worry, for as much as you love it, it will come back to you, regardless of how long you wait. It always comes back.
