I walked down to the bottom of my driveway the other day with my 2 little pooches in tow and this pit bull and a boxer both stopped what they were doing and fixed their eyes on my little guys. I am not saying these are mean dogs, but they are alot bigger than mine and I am not sure what would happen if they ran in their yard. I have no prejudice against these dogs, I think they are great animals when they are raised in loving homes.

The one dog that scare`s me,….The Pit bull,….I know some can be the best pet ever,….but,..I can not help but be afraid of them,…..I have seen the damage they can do to a person,…..and some of those person were the owner`s of the dog,….That being said,…if you find a good one,….they can be just like a big puppy,…
Great shot Viv,……Best keep a eye on these guy`s.

  • John, I agree with you. I had friends that owned one and it was a baby until they gave it the command and if they didn’t like you, that dog would latch onto your throat and not let go! It killed other dogs too but was wonderful with the kids of the family. I always use to say, I was glad I was their friend!

This is a fantastic capture and texture Viv. Having been bitten at EAster 2011 by a Rottweiller, although I adore animals of all kinds, I am very wary now, and usually keep away, even though my heart wants to pat them!! I believe ‘man’ has bred some of these breeds for fighting or attacking, and once that happens in passes through generations. Humankind is SO destructive!

  • I have to agree with you. I’ve known people who were attacked by German Shepherds and they always go for the face. But look at Rin Tin Tin, a beautiful dog! These dogs are all great if you know them, but I would never walk up to one I didn’t. I know some of them just have it bred into them to attack small dogs and kill them. It happens!

Great looking dogs but I would never trust one! Some may be gentle but how would you know! Good or bad the reputation is there! Sad to say this is the fault of humans!:)

  • We humans can take something beautiful and mess it up for selfish gains. I do have a fear of a dog with a head that big and jaws that strong!

Beautiful capture Viv. I can tell you for sure though…if a dog of any breed wanted to hurt your little ones, it would be over in a minute. This one and the other one had to be friendly or you would have known right away. that really goes for any breed…big or small.

  • I have seen your dogs and they are precious and I know you raise them to be that way, but sadly not all these dogs are raised to be loving. These dogs are in an invisible fence so they can’t run out even if they wanted to. I am just leary about any strange dog that will stare that intently at my dogs. I am not prejudice against any kind of dog, I prefer to know them and know how they are raised. I thank you for your comment.

Beautiful capture, love the texture. And those ears are too much! They really are a fantastic breed of dog who, unfortunately, have been the target of many a bad situation and over exposure in the media. It is all in how you raise them, but the same can be said for any breed of dog.

  • I agree with you all the way on that. I think they are great dogs too and it’s all in how they are raised but because of their size, or any bigger dog, I am careful when mine are around, they are small. I love dogs of any shape, and size or breed, they are fantastic animals.
