This is the monster wolf spider that Carl trapped in the house yesterday so I could see it. We put it outside to get some pictures of it. I found out that their bites are not poisonous but they are venemous and could be serious for young children or the elderly.
I’m thankful he’s not in my house anymore!!!

It is my hope to always bring out something good and positive in all that I do! Despite our outward differences of faith, religion, culture, or even global location, one thing we all as humans embrace is a sense of acceptance, and belonging. Our art is an expression of who we are and a language that needs no words. It is my hope that my work depicts all that is loving and positive in which to edify others. I give all my thanks to my God who has uniquely and wonderfully created us in His image.

Yikes its a super close up shot Viv and well done to Carl for spotting it and removing it for you.
(Have fallen way behind here as I am spending less time on RB Viv and working off it for a while. Playing catch up now).

    Love Colleen2012

  • Thank you Colleen, it’s summer and many are taking a break, I’m not on as much either. When Carl saw it he fell but he got up real fast. He is deathly afraid of spiders!!! The thought of this in my house is creepy!

Outstanding, yes one can see the bubble body holding some venom! Love the way you made Mr.Wolf visible, brought out the rainbow colors of the surface with his shadow. In the other shot his shadow created with his legs the pedals of a flower. Transformation of first fearful energy into the beautiful creation of nature via love. Congratulations from Christiane

  • Thank you Christiane, he was a bit intimidating!!!

It looks like a brown recluse spider – a friend of mine was bitten by one and it got really infected, he was sick for ages and has a large scar from the bite

  • I looked this one up and it’s definitely not a brown recluse, they have no markings and I don’t believe they get this huge. They are a scary spider, they eat your skin if not caught in time. But these are no picnic either if bitten. Thanks for looking.

Whatever it is, I am glad it is not here – there are always spiders on my balcony and their bites really hurt

  • I looked up spiders and I believe it’s a wolf spider, venemous but not poisonous! Great consolation!

Uck!! I’m relieved to hear that it is no longer a threat. It is a big one. I’ve seen a wolf spider with all of the babies on it, scary stuff.

  • It was a grand speciman, and I am sorry Carl killed it, but the thought of it coming back in is no longer a possibility. Very scary to say the least!!!

Hope I never come across one – I had black widow spiders in California – they are the most evil looking things – they hid under the steps to all the doors – they are quite large too

  • We had those in NC and Carl would pick them up, he was fascinated with them and I told them they are deadly, but he’s not afraid of them because they aren’t hairy!!! He’s crazy.

Definitely crazy! I used to sweep under the steps all the time and usually found one or two, plus their eggs – I also sprayed insect spray under them too to make sure the eggs didn’t hatch.

  • Good idea, we don’t have many around here!
