Lumix Camera – shot taken in a photobox as a still life. The photograph is of my grandfather, the pendant is rose quartz, the symbol of love and the rose I grew in my garden last summer.
I have just returned from the Remberence Day Tribute at the Swanage War Memorial. It was very moving, we have local school children who take wooden crosses to the Memorial, each one with the name of a man who fell in the first and second wars who came from Swanage. Then the 2 minute silence, when all one can hear is the wind and the sea. Time to remember ….. and never forget, for our today they gave their tomorrow.

Wonderful still life! Congrats on your feature in Peace Love and Tranquility!!!

  • thank you Angie, this is a very special feature for me, the picture is my grandfather when he was just 17 years old, he looks so like my son, who also went to war in Iraq so many years later at about the same age.

Congratulations – beautiful tribute tribute, Vienna Bule – There were more silent witnesses at the War Memorial in my small village than for many, many years – with the village school children reciting thier own poems for those lost and for the hope of future generations – youngest about 7 and the eldest 9 – extremely moving !!
