Apophysis 7x with post work in Photoshop cs5
The starting point for this image was the Bubbles Variations by nightmares06, though I didn’t like the results to much, so went off exploring on my own, which is what is advocated in the tutorial. the background was worked in photoshop cs2 using gradient layers and lighting renders.
I find the image very organic and full of movement, rather like a time lapse sequence of a flower opening but in this case the formation of a pearl inside it’s own protective shell.
