The starting point for this image is the Apo Blooms Tutorial running at present on the Apophysis Tutorial Fun group.
Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz. Its name is Greek, meaning “not druken”. It was long considered a sure charm for remaining sober no matter how much wine one consumed. (oh yeah!) Some said it was necessary to hold an amethyst under the tongue when drinking; others considered it equally efficacious worn in a ring. In medieval times it was known as the ’Bishop’s Stone’
