DeviantArt Theft
I looked at the profile for the guy who stole art from redbubble and one of the bubblers left a message over there that made me think. How did he get such good resolution images from this site? The high resolution images are not stored here so what if these thieves are also customers? Why not buy a few prints and put themselves in business. Maybe that is why he only had a small collection of this and that. Why wouldn’t someone come here and steal zillions of works? Perhaps we are selling our stuff too low?

What site?

It was someone at deviantart he has already been banned from the site, and I think most of the people whos work was stolen knows.

yeah it certainly looks as though he’s just purchased the card version of certain prints and then scanned them in at a high res – on some of them you can actually see the edge is slightly crooked where he’s cropped it wrong and it’s so obviously just been scanned in! DODGY! let’s hope deviantArt will take the proper action and trash this guy’s account. unfortunately i don’t think bumping up price is a good fix as why should all the legitimate law-abiding bubblers be punished for the misdemeanors of a select few flecks of gutter scum! bring on swift justice i say…......art theft is inexcusable!

I read somewhere on the internet that if you don’t show your work for fear of theft you will never be known, and if it’s stolen in some way it means you are good at what you do. Greatest form of flattery for an artist? lol I try not to stress about it to the point that I am afraid to put things out there but it’s always on my mind.

Is RedBubble aware of this?
tiffatron
yeah rob redbubble posted some news about it – that’s how i found out about it. deviant art was contacted and as far as i know the offender has been reprimanded…

Thanks for responding. Am still new to this site. I need to read their posts so I can keep myself informed.
