Road to Narrabri ©
Vicki Ferrari Photographer

Taken back on New Year’s Eve 2004.
A long drive it was too! But nothing like being on the open road! Especially knowing that I had somewhere to be. Always remembering, of course, that life is a journey, not a destination! And what a journey our beautiful country offers!

Great capture Vicki, been down that road before today….lol

  • Hey Clive! Yes, it’s not a bad road, especially when there aren’t any police around! mmmm…. I have some roads from Quilpie too! One day!! Cheers Clive! Vicki :)))

Just wondering where the standard ‘dead roo’ is?

  • I have got some of those photos…. and you were silly enough to ask?!!! mmmmm…. I will have to find them and post them for Ralph!! It was mid arvo, none around… fortunately!

Great, love to see them, have been right up through Quilpie and Thargomindah and out through the Channel Country, loved it

  • That back road to Quilpie past Eulo and out through Toompine was a bit of a bugger when I travelled it last (last time I ever wanted to be on it too!) Certainly didn’t take my hands off the wheel!

Have to take the good with the bad my friend, sometimes you have to suffer a rough road to enjoy the scenery…

  • Didn’t stop to take many photos along that stretch, I can tell you! They were ‘doing it up’ if you get my drift and I was so glad there was no-one else on the road! I don’t mind rough roads, this one wasn’t rough, it was smooth and slippery and I had miles and miles of it!! It was a bit like bulldust – it was a shocker! I still remember it really well!! :)))))

I like it Vicki, great “into the distance” shot. And typically Australian too.

  • Thanks Garth, tried to reply last night but had trouble with RB… Glad you like it and the road ribbon blue photos are always my favourites too! I miss being on the road (well, driving on it, not being on it!)! Very aussie, yes! Cheers, Vicki :))

Yep I’ve got itchy feet too… but maybe that’s just fungus?… sorry, nice shot Vicki.

  • Standing on the hot road might just cure that!!!! Yes, I still get itchy feet but don’t think standing on the hot road will help that – think I need to be behind the wheel of mean red car! Cheers Phil! Vicki :))
