Albert, New South Wales, Australia. This was taken in the township itself, opposite the Rabbit Trap Hotel. Taken using negs back in approximately 1987. This would have to be one of my favourite photographs! I have scanned the 8X12 print and done some minor touching up (typical neg dust and scratch) with photoshop but apart from that, this image is as it is! Hope you like this! And thank you for looking (and reading!)

I like yours as well. I have always been taken with Austrailia, the outback, desert and vast expanse. You know how to appreciate the outdoors. You do a good job of showing that.

  • Vicki Ferrari replied

Thank you Gary! I am glad that my love of my country and our wonderful outback shines through! Very kind comments! Vicki :)

I love this shot Vicki. Great dof. Quintessential Australian with the sheet and gum trees, makes me nostalgic for the place I grew up in country Victoria.

Fantastic image Vicki – the flock of sheep appears endless !

  • Vicki Ferrari replied 6 days ago

Thanks Tony and yes, I agree with you, which is why I love this image! How looks can be deceiving and how you can think outside the square to get an unusual result! There were a lot of sheep there but all strung out and if you shot wide, it was blahhh! Cheers Tony! :)) This is my old stomping ground, where I was originally bought up! And I couldn’t go to school there because they closed the school, closed the post office, and sold off all the churches! It is a big place, is Albert! (but a big heart!) :))

That is how I imagine sheep driving in Australia. Great shot with a sense of movement, magnitude and heat.

  • Vicki Ferrari replied 5 days ago

Ta Kasia! Yes, that about sums it up very well! Maybe one day you will get to see it for real! :))
