Heavens Rays; In Memory of Thomas Seggio

I needed special consideration,
from the Lord and his congregation,
To ease my pain and help me deal,
With all the different emotions i’d feel,

Special gifts to make things clear,
To help me choose which path to steer,
Time alone with my dear Dad,
Time I wouldn’t of otherwise had,

Of talks so tender…words to share,
My heart needed them so I could be bear,
A loss so deep and overwhelming,
Too many people and no one could tell me,

I miss him so…I need him here,
To hug him…kiss him…hold him near,
I’ll take each day one at a time,
I know his love is forever mine,

It’s not easy to accept,
The path that goes from life to death,
In my heart my Dad will stay,
To shine on me like heavens’ rays.

Artist's Description

I wrote this for my friend Cindy. She had a beautiful relationship with her father. When he died I swear I could feel her pain. This poem just flowed from me. She was impressed and comforted. This poem struck deep when I lost my father in 2002. That’s when I truly understood the depth of her sorrow.
