Thanks, Antanai. It’s one of my personal favorites. When I work in 3D, I feel like I’m a sculptor and installation artist. Modeling the objects, setting up lights, positioning elements, creating and applying surface materials is all so fundamentally different than the painting experience (which I am passionate about in different ways).
This piece was inspired by the often still waters of lake Michigan that I experienced in southwestern Michigan as a child.

I forgot to mention, that one day I found a geode on the beach. The crystalline form was also an influence.
