Midway through my shooting sunrise I remembered a comment from my wife – “Once you get your 10-20 lens onto the camera, you never take it off”. So – I decided to shoot landscape with my 80-200 AFD :-)

Shooting against the light – I liked the soft haze I got.

Nikon D80
Nikkor 80-200 f/2.8 AFD
f/5.6 and 1/90 secs
WB on cloudy to get it even warmer than it was.

Looks wonderful Vikram I like the vertical Panorama and good to see you listen and draw advice from your wife as this works very well.

  • :-) Thank you so much Kym.
Yep – she’s my source of inspiration and I’m certain would take better pics as she has a really good eye (just not the patience) for photography.

The depleted water line is only cos It hadn’t rained at all the last few years. By October the water level should be back up.

Wow so atmospherically magical my friend, just gorgeous!!

  • Thank you so much Simone. I spent the rest of the morning on a 2.5 hour trek up the very steep hill behind me (where I’d taken this shot) hoping to get a lovely shot of the rolling hills. But the clouds rolled in and I was literally standing in the middle of the rain cloud with no way of taking any pics as I couldn’t see very far (Yes, it does rain even inside a rain cloud). Then spent the next 2 hours coming down a very slippery hill through dense forest (and saw tiger pug marks which didn’t make me any happier).
