Lovely shot, Vikram…..really love the colours of the earth and sky. Love that Sigma!! Is this near where you live?
    Title is good!! :)

  • I wish this was where I lived.
I’d gone for a short weekend holiday (so wasn’t on the Bubble for 3-4 days). This is about 5.5 hours from where I live – up in the Nilgiri Mountains.

WOW! you DID find time for photography too… ;-) Absolutley gorgeous landscape. And there is nothing wrong with the title either… !

  • Yes I did (with blessings).
Thanks George – it was a virtual feast for photography and trekking!

This is gorgeous Vikram! I think the title is perfect because the first thing I am drawn to is the reflections…well and that blue sky…and those beautiful mountains….and the overall composition…and the colour and texture of the earth….and……..it is just stunning and leave the title ;)

  • Thank you Shelly, lovely comment – thank you for spending the time looking at the pic closely.
The first comment on this pic from my ‘Title Coach’ told me that the title was fine – after the next 2 comments, I’ll have to leave it in place!

I think that a photo is effective when it is so beautiful that the viewer wants to be there very badly! When he/she wants to feel the same things as the photographer must have felt, the things and emotions that were captured in the photo.

I want to be there very badly just now!

  • Wish there was a way to fav a comment!
Thank you so much Johanne – yours is the ultimate compliment!

The stillness speaks when I’m looking at this photo, you caught it very well Vikram.

  • Thank you Monika – Stillness of Heart is what I should have called this!! I sat on the rock on the left for quite a bit of time just enjoying the calm.

Lovely capture – the reflections and colours are so warm and inviting!

Could you please add the lake name/location please :)

  • Thanks Pamela – the altitude and the weather make for brilliant colours.
    PS: Added the lake location.

A stunning shot Vikram. The tones here are so rich!

  • Thanks Ursula – first time I’ve shot purely in RAW so that helped bring back a lot of colour. Plus the altitude, weather and the CPL make colours really pop!!

I’ve not tried shooting in RAW, but I think I’m convinced to try after seeing this Vikram :))

  • You’ll find this link useful then: MS RAW Viewer It means you can see RAW images (including the different camera RAW formats) in windows explorer and in the other applications that use the similar thumbnail views.
