I’d taken this some time back when these brass items had caught my eye – have kept hold of it for some time while I tried to make up my mind if it was good enough to post.

What an interesting find, Vikram…..love how the face of the goddess is in gold, set against the silver items…which are all so intriguing. Well done on the title….phew!! LOL.

  • Thanks Wendi – the selective colour took me a while as I’ve done just a handful of these. But I did want The Buddha’s face to stand out among the rest of the brass items.

Wonderful image Vikram, love the selective colouring, great work!

  • Thanks Simone – I must figure out a particular style, but I guess early days for me and I need to look at a lot of different styles for a few more years.

Good decision to upload that beautiful shot Vikram; feature material again! It’s so unusual and I love the low key SC, works great! Well done!

  • Thanks Johanne – creating the mask for SC taxed my PS skills to the limit!! Think I’ll stay away for a bit!!

In my experience the main style to stick with is the one that comes from the heart Vikram. Who cares if you photograph a landscape one day, a still life the next and a portrait the next. If you love what you do and you are learning your art, I don’t think it really matters. Regardless of what you shoot your own style will always come through, because no one can see it like you can! ;))) And all of your images have a warmth and love that eminate from them, your style is there my friend, trust me on that!! :))

  • Thank you ….. and that is a heartfelt thank you.
Was beginning to question myself and your advice will go a long way in answering my own questions.

I’m glad you decided to upload this Vikram. Good enough to post? DEFINITELY!! You’ve worked some wonders with that lighting again, and the composition is excellent. I do love how that goddess stands out!

  • Thanks so much Ursula! Was afternoon sun so the strong shadows were easy. Teh main work was in making the Buddha stand out – I’m not good with PS!

What I like about it is the counterpoint between the brass and the silver. It works.

  • Thanks Trevor – just what I was hoping to achieve with the Selective Colour work. Thanks!
