Hidden smile
A second shot from the time I shot Wistful. Someone asked me what it would look like in colour and I felt it’d be nicer to put a different version of it up.
That’s my wife goofing around with a bit of a sari that she wrapped around her head (I think she was laughing at me in this pic).
I’ve toned the pic in CS3.

Beautiful shot Vikram – the tones and light are amazing. I love that your wife is staring directly at you in this – you can sense her smile :)
Vikram Franklin replied
Thank you so much Clare. This one she approved of :-)
Heather Nel
Fabulous image with lots of warmth … one can see in her eyes that she was indeed laughing at you – ha haaa.
Vikram Franklin replied
Thank you Heather. I’d initially wanted to tone this blue. But it felt too cold (for this subject especially!!). Then chose brown to emphasise the warmth.
A few seconds after this shot she was guffawing away at me!!
monocotylidono
Her eyes are definitely smiling! :-) Beautiful!
Vikram Franklin replied
Thank you George! You had helped me with some great CC on the first one (B&W) – anything here?

That is the warmest compliment ever – sincerely it is. You’re right about her eyes – that’s why this shoot worked so well – just showed her eyes.

This is the kind of shot which makes you wish that you could engage in conversation and get to know the model better! Lots of emotions here: fun, teasing, intimacy and yes, love! Well done, the both of you! :-)

Absolutely beautiful Vikram! It looks like you guys were having a lot of fun doing this! There’s so much warmth in this shot, both in your wife’s eyes, and in the tones :))
Vikram Franklin replied
Thanks Ursula!! I know I had tons of fun as she doesn’t usually like pics being taken of her. From this smile and from her reaction to these pics – I know she did too!!
Miron Abramovici
What I read in her eyes: Stop fiddling with those buttons and click very soon!

You are fantastic. Congratulations on your feature. You are so lucky to have a wife who lets you photograph her. Ruth avoids me at all costs when I pull my camera out. LOL! No, really she does. Really!!!!! A brilliant capture. Tell Sapna hello from me.
Vikram Franklin replied
You are fantastic my friend!! She doesn’t pose for me at all!! This was her poking fun at me and playing around with a scrap of cloth after I asked (for the upteenth time) if she’d pose. I just took advantage and shot a few quick frames!!

I like both shots, but I think I prefer this because of the hidden smile (a genuine smile that carries to the eyes, and can’t really be hidden). Excellent
