    Bradley Shawn ...

You just blow me away my friend! What a superb composition, rich lavishing colour, (what wonderful earthy tones) and great use of natural light. You have a fantastic sense of thirds here that draws me into the scene. The reflection is absolutely tremendous! You talented talented man.

  • Vikram Franklin replied

I’m so happy to hear that! Glad you like it! Those tones just needed the Orton to hide the texture a bit and really pull this together!

  • Shelly Hiebert

    Shelly Hiebert

Brilliant! Love the composition (it is kind of cool if you look at it upside down too….don’t laugh but it does!) and I like the balance of colours and again, your processing is fantastic! Great title, but I had to look up Coracle because I wasn’t sure :) Another fave for me :)

  • Vikram Franklin replied

LOL! You got me looking at my laptop in all sorts of angles!!
Thank you so much for the awesome comment and the fav my dear friend!

beautiful!! The light hits the right spots, and the tones and reflections are wonderful!

What a wonderful image, rich in color, excellent reflection, great composition and exposure! I had to look up the name but now I feel I have viewed a beautiful scene and learned something interesting as well!

  • Vikram Franklin replied

    Thank you so much Joanne!
I looked it up from Shelly’s link above and found that this wasn’t as common a boat as I had thought. It’s used across India by fishermen who earn their livelihood through fresh-water fishing (all have a cane frame but the waterproofing/casing changes from animal skin to leaves to whatever they can use).

  • Vikram Franklin replied

Hey thanks – you’re the third person to have told me so and I hadn’t seen it in that light myself (perhaps the fact that I was in the middle of a 15 mile hike had something to do with that).

Stunning, Vikram…..the craft almost looks like a leaf on the shore at first. I’ll bet it’s stronger than it looks tho’. Gorgeous colours again….and love the reflection. A FAV!!!

  • Vikram Franklin replied

Thanks Wendi – for the comment and the fav!
It is pretty strong – hold 3 grown ups. The man who owned this coracle took me for a little ride in it as I guess he thought I must have wanted to get into it, seeing that I was taking pics of what he uses everyday for his livelihood (moves supplies across the reservoir while fishing).
