Bradley Shawn ...
Wow this is absolutely brilliant. I love the tones and contrasts. What a fabulous perspective.
Vikram Franklin replied
Thanks Shawn – amazing what the digital darkroom allows you to do! Applied a pseudo-orange filter onto the B&W conversion!

Lovely angle and quality Vikram.
Vikram Franklin replied
Thank you so much Gordon – good to hear from you!

Great perspective and perfect in B+W, I used to have to run around with my old SLR and red filter taking pics like this for work, is UWA Uni of West Aus?
Vikram Franklin replied
Yep – that’s what I did (digitally) – applied an orange filter.
Not anywhere close to Perth – this is an office building in Bangalore.
UWA is Ultra Wide Angle – I used a Sigma 10-20 to get this perspective and ‘fit it all in the frame’.
Nathalie Chaput
LOVE it!!
Awesome shot Vikram!
Vikram Franklin replied
Awww – thanks so much Nat!! Much appreciated!
Shelly Hiebert
Ah man I want that lens soooooo badly Vikram! You are such a tease! This is absolutely fantastic! I love the post work you have done a lot. Perfect tones…...awesome and an instant fave :)
Vikram Franklin replied
LOL!! Thanks for the fav and great comment Shelly. If I really wanted to tease, I’d have sent you a link such as this one
It is a great focal length to play with!
PS – I’d also suggest the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 which wasn’t available to me when I bought the Sigma – but now is available freely.
Ursula Rodgers
WOW! Love this perspective! Terrific b&w….love the orange filter. It brings out some great contrasts!
Vikram Franklin replied
Thank you Ursula! We often forget the red, orange, green, blue and yellow filters from old film days – I thought it made a big difference to this shot – glad you think so too!
Shelly Hiebert
Oh man! Don’t confuse me even more! So if you had the choice you would go with the Tokina?
Vikram Franklin replied
I probably would have Shelly – just that I didn’t get a chance to test one (it was very early days and it had only just been released worldwide). A pro friend of mine who shoots ads for Tokina (obviously with Tokina lenses) – swears by it now and I take his reccomendations pretty seriously.
If going with the Sigma – test shoot a few samples and then choose the lens. I thought the reports of quality differences between pieces were rubbish till I zoomed in and pixel-peeped.
Appel
Stunning! A fav for me!
Vikram Franklin replied
Thank you much – you’re always so kind!
Thanks for the fav too!
Thierry Vincent
This is a great architecture shot! Your angle is perfect and the B&W treatment is really awesome… You really got a good grip on the 10-20 as well as Photoshop…
Vikram Franklin replied
Thank you – really glad you like this one.
The 10-20 is a fantastic lens – it gives one a great focal length to play with!

Love the converging verticals and pov, and I love the plant juxtaposing nature against the concrete jungle.. awesome mono processing too!! Great work once again Vikram!
Vikram Franklin replied
Thanks Simone – that was the idea when I took the pic (the greenery against the concrete) – but it probably came out better in the colour version.

Love the dynamic the UWA adds to this shot. Great to see you’re having fun with it. I’ve been enjoying this lens this week. And it will definitely join me on my trip to Argentina :-).
Vikram Franklin replied
Thanks Peter – this lens is HUGE fun! Look forward to your pics from Argentina!
