Guitar Head
Spent a happy 2 hours reshooting and having fun with smoke art.
Reshoot as I’d lost 2 shoots when my disk went “boom!” some time back – this was one of them. Been meaning to get this done – just that it gets really stuffy with joss sticks!

Thanks so much Peter. Sat back and observed where most of the ‘action’ was happening in the smoke plumage – then zoomed in there and fired away. As to the how – there are a number of tutorials on smoke-art .. I’d read one online and used it as a guideline (I could try and dig it out if you wanted).

That’s EXACTLY what I thought when I first saw this formation – then proceeded to shoot over 30 pics before I got one that I liked – this one!

Great work Vikram, love the post processed inverted image and colours. I did some and ended up leaving them plain white on black, but love this. Yes, I stank the place out with joss sticks too, lol :)

Looks like guitar or violin head … awesome capture.
Btw tell me on thing … How do you set complete white or complete black background when you shoot the smokes. Also what settings you use ?

Thanks – hence the title – “Guitar Head” – exactly what came to mind when I saw it.
The black background is by putting an acrylic sheet about 3 ft behind the smoke. When inverted it becomes white.
